DIY: Mason Jar Snow Globes

What can’t you do with a mason jar?

Mason jar snow globes are all the rage. You can buy kits to make them for $15 at Michaels.

Frankly, that doesn’t work with my college student budget. I’d rather have Chipotle.

I had to have one of these though. So naturally I made one for a cheaper price.

Here’s what you need:

Mason Jar


Glycerin {You can find this in the baking aisle of the craft store}


Hot Glue Gun

Little Figurines or Holiday Greenery

Here’s how you make it:

  1. Take off the lid
  2. Use the hot glue gun to glue the figurines to the lid
  3. Fill the jar with water
  4. Add glitter and a few drops of glycerin
  5. Screw the lid on tight
