Food Finds: Farine+Four

Hi Lovelies,

If I’m being totally honest, I’ve been hiding something from you for months. It’s a new-ish (now) spot, Farine+Four. Hopefully you’ll forgive me for hiding the gem from you when I’ve known about it since its opening earlier this year.

But because it’s been open for a bit, I’ve been a few times and can tell you everything about their delicious offerings. I seriously get something new every time because all of their food is sooo good!

My mom and I first went on their opening weekend, and got bagels + croissants. They had a pretty limited menu at the time, but we were happy with the bagels. Honestly, it’s the best bagel I’ve ever tasted, and yes I have indeed been to Bagel Bin.

They also serve bagel sandwiches, but I wasn’t really feeling like eating an egg. I’m not really big into eggs, but sometimes I can convince myself to eat one. Not that day.

So I went back again thinking, oh I’ll get another bagel because it was so good. Then my sweet tooth hit so I ordered a vanilla bean cardamom spiral instead with spiced apple cider (my fall favorite).

It was delicious. How do they get every pastry perfectly flakey?! It honestly blows my mind. The flavors are subtle, and it doesn’t feel overly sugary. Oh, and the apple cider? Best I’ve tasted, all of the spices are perfect for fall.

I know it really seems like I’m hyping this place up, and you’re right, I am. I’ve never left disappointed. I even had a bite of my mom’s cinnamon roll and it was really good too.

Brett and I are the king and queen of slow Saturdays. We wake up with the sun, go to a coffee shop or bakery, and walk around the neighborhood or wear pjs and watch College Gameday.  Farine+Four is the perfect slow Saturday spot. I could sit there for hours chatting, drinking cider and letting time pass by.

I wanted more of a hearty breakfast this time so opted for avocado toast + had to get apple cider again (duh). The bread was warm and perfectly toasted with lots of avocado. Honestly, you could share this with someone. I only ate half and gave Brett some big bites of the other half even though he was pretty full after his BLT. He enjoyed his sandwich too, but wanted more bacon.

 So basically, all this to say, I’ve never been disappointed at Farine+Four. You need to go. Take a slow Saturday, and do it! And when you’re there, get the tosca. Seriously. Do it.

Next up on my Omaha brunch list is Saddle Creek Breakfast Club, but I’m scared because I hear the wait times are super long.
